Appendix F: Checklist - Standard USA Hire Assessment Vacancy Review

Getting Started - 

• Confirm USA Hire is appropriate for the recruitment.
• Review the competencies to be assessed with the Hiring Manager.
• If combining the USA Hire Assessment with a second assessment, complete a Weighting Worksheet.

Vacancy - 

• Use the USA Hire Acknowledgement Template under Application Confirmation Messages.

Assessment - 

• USA Staffing Minimum Qualification Assessment added and tested, if applicable
• Appropriate USA Hire External Assessment(s) added
• Second assessment to measure technical skills, if applicable
• Assessment Plan tab modified, as needed, to address screen-out vs rating and weighting protocol
• Determine to turn on cut scores or not for status/internal merit promotion announcements

Announcement - 

• USA Hire JOA template used
• Review the Vacancy and JOA Prior to Release to USAJOBS
  1. For the first five (5) JOAs, work with your agency USA Hire POC to ensure you follow the appropriate review process prior to releasing to USAJOBS.  
  2. After the first five (5), follow your agency business process.

Review Applicants - 

Once the JOA has closed, confirm the following prior to issuing certificates:

• The 48-hour USA Hire Assessment close date window has ended
• All Reasonable Accommodation requests have been adjudicated
• All applicants have an RSC of either IN or AA
