Application Process
After the announcement is released to USAJOBS, applicants may begin applying to the vacancy. Upon submitting their application for a vacancy utilizing USA Hire assessments, the applicant will:
- Be progressed to an application processing screen. During this time, USA Staffing is determining an applicant’s eligibility or ineligibility for further consideration based on his/her responses to the assessment and/or announcement questionnaires. If eligible for further consideration, a request to USA Hire will be submitted to determine if the applicant has previously completed and has score reuse for the required USA Hire assessment(s). Upon completion of this process, the applicant will have submitted their application and will be asked to continue to the application confirmation screen. The applicant will have submitted an application even if they do not continue to the application confirmation screen.

The application confirmation screen will display following assessment statuses to the applicant:
- If ineligible for the position: A confirmation message that their application was submitted and that assessments may be required. Ineligible applicants will not receive a system generated USA Hire assessment status notification email.
- If eligible for the position, and assessments were previously completed: A confirmation message that their application was submitted, assessments are complete, and no further action is required.
- If eligible for the position, assessments are required, and no reasonable accommodation was requested: A confirmation message that their application was received, assessments are required, and they must continue to USA Hire to complete assessments and complete their application.
- If eligible for the position, assessments are required, and reasonable accommodation was requested: A confirmation message that assessments are required, and their application is on hold, and that they will be required to provide supporting documentation to substantiate their accommodation claim.
Note: Applicants can return to their USAJOBS account and click on “Track this Application” to find and view their current assessment status notification. See Appendix C for these status messages. - In addition to the above application confirmation assessment status on-screen message, applicants will receive the following emails:

See Appendix B and Appendix C for these status messages. - If assessments were required, and an applicant completes all the assessments by the deadline provided, he/she will receive an Assessments are Complete email and can return to their USAJOBS account and click on “Track this Application” to find their assessment status updated to a completion notice. See Appendix C for this status messages. If an applicant does not complete the required assessments, and Assessment Reminder Notifications were enabled in the Settings of the Assessment Plan, then the applicant will also receive a Assessments are Required Reminder email notification one day prior to the completion deadline. See Appendix C for these status messages.
Processing Late Filers
On the Applicant Overview Tab, click the Invite Late Applicant button. When an applicant is invited as a late filer (Delayed, Regular, or Reopen) after the announcement has closed, USA Staffing will automatically submit an assessment order for the applicant if they are eligible upon completion of their application. The applicant will have 2 days to complete the assessments, unless the applicant has previously tested, and assessment results are reused.
